From Procrastination to Action: How I Finally Built My Dream Website

This journey actually started back in 2024 when I first purchased hosting and domain to build my personal blog website.
I was so excited to write and share my thoughts.
I even started building the website, but maybe — I chose the wrong theme, wrong templates, or maybe the wrong starting point altogether.
The fonts, page settings — nothing ever felt right.
Neither was it mobile-friendly, nor did it look good on a computer.
I thought — “It’s okay, I’ll watch YouTube tutorials and fix it someday…”
But as usual, procrastination took over.
I kept delaying.

It’s not that I was very busy, but whenever I sat down to work on the website, some excuse, some reason always stopped me.
Deep inside, I always carried a fear:
“Maybe I just can’t do this…”
Whatever little I tried, instead of getting better, it somehow looked worse.
Thinking, overthinking… time slipped away.

And before I knew it, my domain and hosting expired.
A whole year just vanished — and I didn’t even realize when.

The Turning Point

One day, I finally asked myself:
“What am I even doing with my dreams? Where are my efforts?”

I had so much inside me to write, to express, to share with the world.
Yet, procrastination kept winning.

So I made a decision:
I renewed my domain.
I promised myself — this time, no excuses.

But old habits are hard to break.
Even after renewing, procrastination kept pulling me back.
“Tomorrow… Tomorrow…” became my daily excuse.

Choosing Imperfect Action Over Perfect Procrastination

On a random Sunday, I told myself:
“Enough. Today, no matter what, I will act.”

I logged into my WordPress admin panel and started building — step by step.
But after a little while, I felt stuck again:
“Maybe not today. Let’s continue tomorrow.”

I shut my laptop.

But deep inside, I knew —
If I don’t act now, I never will.

Later that evening, guilt pushed me.
I decided to seek help.

That’s when ChatGPT came into the picture —
not just as a guide, but as a patient companion,
showing me small, clear steps without any judgment.

GPT suggested something simple:
“If you don’t feel like opening your laptop, just download the WordPress app on your mobile. Lie down, relax, but keep moving.”

And that’s what I did.
Lying on my bed, I downloaded the app.
Slowly, with GPT’s guidance, I started rebuilding.

Initially, I thought a website must be fancy — with lots of images, flashy designs.
But then I realized:
I don’t need all that.
I just need a clean, simple place to write — my safe space to express.

By the end of that night,
I had built Amarkivade — my dream website.

The Lesson I Learned

Through this journey, I understood something powerful:

Procrastination cannot be defeated by overthinking; it can only be defeated by imperfect action.

It doesn’t matter how small your step is.
What matters is that you move forward — even when it’s messy, even when it’s scary.

Today, Amarkivade is not just a website.
It’s my proof that dreams don’t die because of fear;
they die because of inaction.

And now, I’m committed to keeping my dream alive —
one imperfect but honest step at a time.
